About: The National Centre for Scientific Reserach “Demokritos”, founded in 1961, is the largest multidisciplinary Research Centre of Greece with approximately 180 Researchers in tenured and tenure-track positions and over 500 Research Personnel working in projects funded mainly by grants from State Funds, the European Union and Private Industries. For a year, I worked as a scientific programme officer in the Innovation Office. My tasks were to monitor funding opportunities and disseminate information related to European funding schemes, coordinate the project related to the research thematic areas and patents of the centre. Being active and engaged to these meetings, what I often brought back to the centre were invitations for funding proposals and partnerships. Within this project, I have kept up to date with the current research & development fundraising landscape in Europe.
