IAESTE | Project Manager & Team coordinator of the local committee DUTH | 2008-2009

About: The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience has been providing young science and engineering students from around the world with paid, course related work experience.

Role & Tasks: coordinating a team of around 10 students of  the local IAESTE chapter at Democritus University of Thrace in Xanthi, developing collaborations among local enterprises and universities from other countries, jobraising, representing the committee in international workshops, hosting foreign students, assisting them to adjust to Greece and organising everyday matters

What stays in my memory from this activity: I became a volunteer member of IAESTE since I joined the organisation during my internship in Tunisia in 2007 (See here more). One year later, the local coordinator was vacant and there was a risk to terminate the local chapter. I was invited to coordinate the team. It was one of my first experiences to do such activities and what I practised most was to be precise in my working activities and flexible due to the amount of the responsibilities.
